Inception Is Causing The X-Men: First Class Script To Change image
It was only a matter of time before a filmmaker said that their vision has been altered by Christopher Nolan's Inception. The film was truly a visionary masterpiece and may very well change the landscape of modern film due to both its critical and financial success. Matthew Vaughn, who is directing the upcoming X-Men: First Class is the first director to say Inception has changed his approach, however, it's not in the way you think.

Vaughn has told The Los Angeles Times that, after seeing Inception, he is going to have to edit parts of the film in the X-Men franchise. Why? Because some of the elements are too similar:
My heart sank when I saw that a few of the ideas we had were up [on the screen]. So it's either leave it in and look as if you're copying or change things. We completely ripped out about 12 pages of the script and the storyboards."

The scene in question was a fight between Professor Xavier (played by James McAvoy) and a bunch of other mutants. What made it similar was that the fight was to take place in a spinning room, much like the fight between Arthur and guards in the hotel dream level.

As cool as the Inception fight scene was, Vaughn was absolutely right to take it out. While he may have had the idea prior to seeing the film, every audience in the world would have called him a copycat had he left it in and Vaughn is simply too talented for such a label. He's better off leaving it for someone like Paul W.S. Anderson or Brett Ratner.
