Indiana Jones Heads To France![]()
Indiana Jones may be headed to France for his next big adventure. No, don’t expect to see the red dot overlapped on a map heading toward France on screen this summer. Instead it appears that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull may be making its debut at this year’s Cannes film festival.
According to Fox News, Steven Spielberg is currently in talks with the Cannes film festival representatives to bring the fourth Indiana Jones movie to Cannes. The appearance would serve as the movie’s official debut before its public opening on May 22nd, and would give the opportunity for the festival to have he movie’s cast and crew on the red carpet. Interestingly, Cannes may be your only opportunity to see or hear about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull before it opens May 22nd. Dark Horizons reports that Paramount is considering not opening the movie to press before its release, which means no advance screenings or press junkets. Typically that means a movie isn’t worth much and the studio wants to hide it, but it could also mean the studio knows the movie is untouchable and that anything the press had to say would be irrelevant to box office records anyway. Let’s hope it’s the latter in that scenario and that Indy’s next adventure will hold up with the others from twenty plus years ago. |
