Indy 4 Script Is Done

The confusing messages on the status of Indiana Jones IV continue. After several comments from people involved in the project (including Harrison Ford) indicating that they didn’t have a script and that the thing wasn’t going anywhere soon, George Lucas’s long time partner Rick McCallum has announced that George has finally approved a script for use and they’re ready to pick a start date.

Ireland On-Line reports that McCallum spoke out at the Empire awards (where King Kong won best picture) on Monday in London. "(George has) just finished the Indiana Jones script,” he said. So they’ll start shooting it now right? Well not yet. First he says, “Steven's having that rewritten and a few things done."

So wait a minute, George has finally approved a script (having rewritten it himself), and now Spielberg is going to rewrite his rewrites? Once Spielberg finishes, will George un-approve it and rewrite again? Is this movie ever going to happen? My money is on no if they keep talking in circles like this.

To sum up, the script for Indiana Jones 4 is done, George Lucas has approved it, and now Steven Spielberg is going to redo it and start the process all over again... once he gets back from his year-long vacation that is. Harrison Ford update: He’s really really old and looks really really stupid with that damned earring hanging from his lobe.
