Indy 5 Headed To The Bermuda Triangle?![]()
Rumors about a fifth Indiana Jones movie were never quite as popular as Batman 3 rumors-- mostly because they all seemed to come from people making the movie-- but here's a juicy one to make up for it. The New Zealand website Stuff (via AICN) says the fifth film will begin shooting next year, and that the action will center around the Bermuda Triangle.
POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT, though given that we don't know whether or not this is true, don't get too worked up. Stuff's source claims that "George (Lucas) and Steven (Spielberg) have been working on a script and it's almost there. Harrison is on stand-by for filming next year. This looks like being an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise, with Indy facing his biggest challenge yet." Also, you're in luck as for one of the two things that ruined the fourth movie: Shia LaBeouf will indeed be back, but excessive CGI will not. "This will be a blockbuster made in the old fashioned way rather than the CGI efforts of the last movie." The Bermuda Triangle setting is kind of a wash-- could work, could not, it's all in how they tell it-- but the CGI mention is at least a good sign. Steven Spielberg has never really talked about the criticism of the fourth movie and doesn't seem like the kind of guy to just blindly respond to fan complaints, but surely even he must know that the aliens were a little absurd. If this rumor turns out to be true-- and that's a big if-- they may be headed the right direction here. Of course, the best direction would be not to make the film at all, but that doesn't seem to be an option anymore. |
