The focus of the press for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull still seems to be Indy’s age. Forget about the Russians he’s fighting or that mysterious reference to Area 51 in the trailer. Most press would rather talk about the aging hero and the additional obstacles that age creates. Thankfully, Harrison Ford has some interesting views on the subject and isn’t letting his age become a factor in his career, down to the possibility of yet another Indiana Jones picture after Crystal Skull.
The latest of the age-obsessed reports on the fourth Indy movie comes from USA Today, who outlines Ford’s career and what it’s like for Ford to return to the whip and fedora after twenty years. Expect to see this same interview a lot over the next few months. The good part is that most of the interviews include some new image from Crystal Skull, like the one below of Indy and Mutt contemplating an encountered skeleton.
The best news that comes from the article is that Ford would be game for another Indiana Jones movie, provided it doesn’t take another 20 years to make. I’m not necessarily cheering on another movie, at least not until we see how Crystal Skull turns out, but I’m glad to hear there’s the possibility of Indiana Jones returning for another picture, rather than the focus having to be Mutt if Paramount decides it wants to keep milking this cow – a fear that many out there share.
