Into The Small Guys![]()
Look! Up in the Sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s another comic book movie adaptation! It seems that not even the little guys are safe from adaptation. Studios are no longer targeting brand names such as Superman and Batman, any thing’s game in today’s comic-trans-film market. And the latest guy to get swept up is Michael Hague’s graphic novel “In the Small,” according to Variety.
Small time comic book adaptations are nothing to scoff at – look at Road to Perdition, who knew that was a comic before it hit the screens? Warner Bros. and Akiva Goldsman’s Weed Road Pictures swooped up the rights to the story of a world-wide explosion that leaves the world in tact, but shrinks mankind to 6 inches tall. The change in height leads to a change in social order, not to mention the food chain. Goldsman has been a busy bee this year, adapting The Da Vinci Code and the upcoming Angels and Demons and producing Tonight He Comes and I Am Legend. Can he work his magic at turning awesome blockbuster books into awesome blockbuster movies yet again? |
