New Iron Man 3 Image Has Tony Stark Looking Defeated

From the looks of the Iron Man 3 trailer, the titular hero is going to be getting beat up quite badly in his new film. Not only is there a scene where a pair of helicopters detonate his house and all of his armor blows up, there's also a scene where Tony Stark is shown battle-damaged and critically injured while lying in the snow. And he's not looking too great in this new still from the film either.

Marvel.com has unleashed a brand new image from the film and it's clear that Stark is fighting a losing battle. In addition to the excessive damage on his suit (which appears to be Mark XLVII), his eye is torn up pretty badly. I guess his fight against the Ten Rings isn't going too well.

And if that isn't enough to keep your Marvel buzz going, be sure to read my report from last night's DGA screening of The Avengers where Joss Whedon revealed some surprising details about what his movie could have been.

Iron Man 3, which will be in theaters May 3, 2013, finds Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) struggling in his post-Avengers life, before finding everything in his life taken away from him. With his life torn to shreds, he must find a way to take his life back - and it involves going up against his greatest enemy yet, The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Jon Favreau are sent to reprise their roles from the previous two films and new additions to the franchise include Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton. Head over to our Blend Film Database to find out even more about the movie.
