Iron Man has a new trailer. It’s a short, international version of kickass trailer we’ve already seen here in the US. It’s also not as good, but it does contain some new footage and lots of Gwenyth Paltrow who still seems like the only thing about this movie that just doesn’t feel right. They should have gotten Rachel McAdams.

One of the really interesting things alluded to in this trailer though, is the idea that Iron Man might actually get involved in helping the United States fight the war on terrorism, or at least in blowing shit up in Iraq. Stark alludes to helping the people that he put in harm’s way. Tony Stark is an arms dealer. Could this be the first superhero movie about a crusader who gets out and helps US soldiers blows up terrorists, rather than just fighting crime in his own city? It’s about time the superhero genre got more immediately relevant.
