Don Cheadle isn’t taking a break anytime soon. This weekend marks the second big release for him this summer (Ocean’s 13 and Talk To Me) and he’s just signed on to produce and appear in another major role in The Traitor, opposite Guy Pearce.

The movie is an evenhanded look at terrorism according to David Hoberman who, along with Todd Lieberman and Cheadle are producing the film. Cheadle will play an undercover CIA agent spying on a terrorist cell when he becomes a terrorist suspect himself. Pearce will play the investigating FBI agent. Filming is set to begin in September in Toronto and Morocco according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cheadle has also expressed an interest in making another Hotel Rwanda type message-film, focusing on the atrocities in Darfur. WENN recently reported the star’s comment, "There's millions of stories that come of that area, from the extremely dramatic to the heart warming. So if the right script came along, I'd be interested.”

Cheadle is one of those actors whose versatility is constantly being put to good use. I love seeing him in action flicks and I love seeing his dramatic side as well. I have no doubt that he’ll be excellent in The Traitor and be able to show people the tragedies of Sudan if the opportunity arises.
