Is This The New Transformers Themesong? A number people have been spending time digging around on Paramount’s Sector Seven website, a viral site designed to dole out Transformers tidbits to anyone interested in wasting hours there. I love Transformers, but I’m perfectly happy to let other people do the digging, people like AICN.

They’ve been rummaging around and have discovered what they believe to be the new, updated Transformers theme song Michael Bay will use with his new movie. There’s no way to confirm it at this point, it’s entirely possible this could be some sort of internet only nugget that will never actually be in the film. To me though, it sounds like the sort of thing that might be played over the closing credits, the way that Aerosmith do-over of the old Spider-Man themesong was during the credits of the first Spidey movie.

However Bay decides to use it, I’m going to come right out and say I like. No, scratch that, I love it. I know, that’s not cool. If you’re a cranky, asshole internet idiot you’re supposed to hate any movie soundtrack that uses anything but a standard orchestral score, doubly so if that non-traditional music uses rock guitars. Whatever. I like guitars and can always do with more of them. Love the way this song incorporates elements of the original song from the TV show and mixes it with a mildly modern, rock/rap feel. No one seems to know who it is that’s singing it, but to me it sounds a lot like Bowling for Soup.

    No the song that sounds like linkin park and that emo trash song that is by mutemath are two different things.

    I don't know guys, the new transformers movie looks cool with the special effects, but the animated tv series was kind of cheezy. I thought the original transformers movie from 1986 was kind of cool though, it had a good sountrack. I'm not sure if the new tranformers live action movie will be any better. It just looks like a family version of the ALIENS movies, but I could be wrong.

    Turns out we may have been duped. Mutemath does indeed do the new theme, but this shit leaked onto AICN is NOT Mutemath. An actual sample of the real song can be heard on Mutemath's (ugh) MySpace page.

    Track listing from IGN confirms it is Mutemath and NOT Bowling For Soup 0_o doing the theme.

    I can't believe you dig that and think that the only reason someone like me hates it is because I'm some sort of 'net hater. Way to go with the broad sweeping generalization, Josh.

    I'm sorry, but that song sounds like ass. It had potential right up until the Linkin Park-sounding vocals and lame robot roll call. This just comes across as some "rushed through production for a soundtrack/end title sequence" musical bit.

    Liked it up until the Linkin Park wannabe vocalists came in and the whole thing began to reek of fan-madeness

    The singer's voice sounds like Bowling for Soup to me. It gets more nu metal at the end, but Bowling for Soup has done pseudo nu metal stuff before.

    Linkin Park just seems to obvious a guess, and it doesn't sound quite like them.

    Maybe it's just some generic band. Would be nice if Paramount would release a track list for the soundtrack. We'd have some clue then.

    It sounds more like Linkin Park or some nu-metal band to me.
