Italian Basterds Poster Evokes Old Hollywood

discussioncomments published: 2009-06-17 08:40:58 Author: Katey Rich
There are two widely accepted facts about movie posters: they looked better in the Old Hollywood era, and for modern ones, the international version is always superior. The Italian poster for Inglourious Basterds, snagged by Bad Taste, proves both of these things simultaneously. The red stripe in the background evokes painted classic posters like Casablanca or The Maltese Falcon, and the three Basterds striding forward look damn near ready to take your head off.

I like it, and wonder when we'll start seeing more fully formed posters like this (rather than the teaser versions). Of course, if the rule holds true, our versions will suck anyway. No sense in getting hopes up. See the larger version of what you see below at Bad Taste.
