J.J. Abrams Talks Trek 2 And Mission: Impossible 4![]()
Kudos to SciFi Wire for taking maximum advantage of the most awkward kind of red carpet encounter, in which you're shoved in with another group of reporters and forced to fight for scraps of whatever information you can get out of the talent. Talking to J.J. Abrams before a Fox party, the SciFi Wire guys managed to get a few tidbits about his plans for Star Trek 2 and Mission: Impossible IV-- though nothing you probably haven't heard already.
As for Trek, the writing process for Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci technically hasn't yet begun, "but we've started talking story, and Damon's writing it with them." Damon, of course, meaning Lost executive producer Damon Lindelof, who contributed to the original Trek script and may very well be a genius. As for M:I 4, there's a draft coning, but not any time soon-- by the end of the year, Abrams suggests. The guy clearly has a lot else on his plate, so it makes sense that there a lot still in process right now. Still, it's a little disappointing getting that reminder that we still have to wait for more from Abrams. |
