J.J. Abrams To Produce Infinitely Polar Bear![]()
J.J. Abrams is a busy dude. He's producing both Fringe and Undercovers; writing, directing and producing Super 8; producing Mission: Impossible 4; has sequels for both Star Trek and Cloverfield on the back burner; and has his fingers in about twenty other various cookie jars. I'm beginning to feel sorry for his wife and children, because he's now added another project to the pile.
Pajiba's inside source has gathered some new info about an Abrams project called Infinitely Polar Bear (no, it has nothing to do with Lost). Written and directed by Maya Forbes the project is about a bi-polar man trying to keep his life and family together as his wife leaves him to start a new career. The article mentions that Mark Ruffalo is currently being considered for the part (but with The Avengers starting up next year, who knows how much time he'll actually have). The project actually sounds like a really solid drama, even if it's coming from a filmmaker known more for comedies (Forbes previously wrote Monsters vs. Aliens and The Rocker). I can definitely see why they are looking at Ruffalo, as that man has so much charm that he'll be able to keep us smiling while he's suffering, a quality that few actors possess. Put this one down on your list of "things to look out for." |
