By now you've probably heard Chris Cornell's 007 theme song for Casino Royale. If you haven't, click here. But where does the whole Bond crooner thing go next? There's already a Casino Royale follow up in pre-production, and apparently they're also close to zeroing in on a singer to warble through the opening credits for it.
Normally, I'm not one of those people who cares about the Bond theme, but the direction they may take for the next Bond movie is interesting. After years of turning the theme over to celebrity singers like Madonna and Chris Cornell, it looks like they may be picking based on who sounds good instead.
WENN reports that English jazz singer Amy Winehouse is in talks with studio executives to handle songstress duties for whatever the end up calling the sequel to Casino Royale. After Madonna's strange techno-theme and Cornell's pseudo-rock version, jazz could actually be a nice change of pace.
Past Bond belters have included people like Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, and Duran Duran. Amy Winehouse doesn't exactly fit in.
