James Bond In Star Trek? Fire up your rumor warp drives, James Bond wishes he could beam up. Yep, Daniel Craig is pushing for a role in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek XI. Actually, it sounds like he’ll take just about anything. Movie, TV, alien potted plant. Here’s what he told WENN: "I would love a stint in the TV show or in a film. It's been a secret ambition of mine for years."

It’s been a secret ambition of mine too Daniel, but then I’m not a newly successful Hollywood superstar. Daniel Craig in Trek? Someone get J.J. Abrams on the phone. How about Daniel Craig as Doctor Leonard McCoy? I could see that. Or maybe even a young Scotty? Can he do an outrageous Scottish accent?

Seriously folks, Abrams would be wise to take advantage of some of these big name offers he’s getting. Not just for the star power, but because these are also great actors. If Matt Damon played Kirk (still just a rumor), Daniel Craig would be the perfect age to play a young Bones. McCoy was always the oldest and craggiest of the big three (Kirk/Spock/McCoy), and Craig is old enough and craggy enough. I’ve never seen him play a crotchety southern doctor type, but Daniel’s good enough that I’d feel good about him pulling it off. Bring it on.
