Jared Leto Packs On Pounds For Chapter 27
One of the things that has impressed me about actor Jared Leto is his dedication to acting as a craft. It would be very easy for Leto to get by with just being a pretty face, but, even in movies where that’s pretty much his sole purpose (Alexander), the actor still delivers a strong presence beyond that face. It’s an admirable trait for an actor to have.
It’s also a trait that’s going to pay off big time for Leto’s next big role, assuming it doesn’t kill him. For Chapter 27 Leto abandoned his good looks, putting on sixty pounds to play Mark David Chapman, the killer of John Lennon.
The studio is wisely taking advantage of such a transformative approach, putting Leto’s bloated face front and center for the advertising campaign. MTV Movies Blog has an exclusive first look at the poster for Chapter 27 (small version shown to the right), and Leto is barely recognizable on it. It’s definitely an approach that makes me want to see the movie, despite Lindsay Lohan’s involvement as a Lennon groupie.
Take a look at the full poster over at MTV Movies Blog.

Didn't Leto put on this weight, film this movie, then drop this weight like 3 years ago? I guess it makes sense becuase he was acting a little nutty having to be so fat- so maybe he wanted to distance himself from being the "Fat Leto" for a while before they finally started putting pics out there, that way he can say "See! Im not fat, I'm still as skinny and pretty and emo as ever!"
Oh well, I'll give him some credit, he's still a pretty good actor.
