Jason Bateman And Ryan Reynolds Will Switch Bodies![]()
Ever since The Hangover became a massive, massive hit, we've seen a lot-- and I mean a lot-- of comedies greenlit hoping to ape that movie's success. Now it's time for the next script from Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore to have its chance; Deadline Hollywood reports that Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds have been cast in the body-switching comedy.
The Playlist dug up a few more details on the script, about what happens when a pair of best friends-- the responsible guy and the lazy man-child-- switch bodies. No one is saying which character will be played by which actor, but I could honestly see either of them doing either role. Bateman showed impressive range in a supporting role in last year's State of Play, while Reynolds' broad comedic appeal makes him well-suited to pretty much any role. The film is being directed by David Dobkin, who directed Lucas and Moore's pre-Hangover hit Wedding Crashers, and recently bailed on directing Neighborhood Watch. The guy is a proven hitmaker with standard buddy comedies, but the body-switching angle may throw a whole wrench into things. It worked for Zac Efron and Lindsay Lohan; can it work for an R-rated comedy as well? |
