Jason Bateman And Melissa McCarthy Featured In Characters Posters For Identity Thief
Few people play the straight man as well as Jason Bateman does. While he has been known to play the goof occasionally, he's never better than when he's playing a role like Michael Bluth in Arrested Development or Nick in last summer's Horrible Bosses. Conversely, Melissa McCarthy showed in Bridesmaids that she is an incredibly capable physical comedian who can turn even the slightest facial twitch into a laugh. And it's those individual talents that are on display in the first character posters for the upcoming Seth Gordon comedy Identity Thief.
With Universal Pictures set to release the film this February, they have sent The Huffington Post and Moviefone the first bit of advertising art to kick off the marketing campaign. You can see the two one-sheets below and head over to the individual sources to see them full size.
As you might be able to gather from both the posters and the title, the movie centers on Sandy (Bateman), a mild-mannered, ordinary guy who sees his life get completely flushed down the toilet thanks to a woman named Diana (McCarthy), a trainwreck of a woman who steals his identity. The script was written by Craig Mazin, who previously worked on the third and fourth Scary Movies as well as The Hangover Part II, and the terrific supporting cast includes John Cho, Jon Favreau, Genesis Rodriguez, Amanda Peet, Eric Stonestreet, Robert Patrick, Ben Falcone, Clark Duke and Morris Chestnut.
Typically when we see posters arrive online for a film that means that a trailer isn't too far off, so be sure to keep checking back when the first preview arrives online. Identity Thief will be in theaters on February 8, 2013 and you can read more about it in our Blend Film Database.
