He played an alien on “Roswell,” then a doomed boyfriend in the supernatural The Grudge, and now he is back to battling spooky forces. Jason Behr may rarely land work as a regular, run-of-the-mill guy, but at least he is off the unemployment line.
According to Variety, Behr will star in the thriller The Tattooist, for The New Zealand Film Commission, Mediacorp Raintree Prods, and Eyeworks Touchdown Prods. Robin Scholes will produce with Daniel Yun.
The Tattooist, which sounds like a made-up word but isn’t, gives Behr his shot at a leading role. He plays a tattoo artist who becomes intrigued by the Samoan tatau tradition, but his desire to learn the ancient skill leads to trouble. Before long, a deadly spirit is released and he encounters conflict and danger with the island mysticism. If movies have taught us anything, it's this: stay far away from angry spirits, or pay the price.

Does anyone know the name of the song that's playing when Jason Behr and Mia Blake are in the restaurant/ cafe before they go back to the shop and he tattoos her? I believe it has a reggae beat to it (could be wrong) and it begins by saying something about a rainbow and refers to rain a lot during the song. If anyone knows, fill me in!! Thanks! :)
NZ has produced some great cinema over the years. Hope The Tattoist is one of them. Jason Behr is a fine actor though one wouldn't really know it watching him in films like The Grudge. Hope he gets to work those considerable acting chops in The Tattoist. Looks promising.
"The Tattooist" -- just from the title the movie doesn't sound too promising. We'll see if Jason Behr can give a good performance and kick start his acting career. However, I'm sure having "The Grudge" on his resume doesn't help.
