Jennifer Aniston must be taking a lot of meetings right now. Just days after the signed on to lead a ridiculous sounding comedy called Pumas, she's agreed to star in something that sounds slightly more respectable. Grey Gardens director Michael Sucsy will make his feature debut with Goree Girls, a true story about an all-female country band based out of a Texas prison in the 1940s.

Aniston definitely isn't the name I immediately associate with with Texas inmates, but she might just have the spunk to make it work. Variety writes that newcomers Overnight Productions will star filming in January, having snagged the project out of turnaround at DreamWorks. It'll be interesting to see who gets cast with her-- maybe some of them will at least feel like authentic Texans?

Weirdly, there were rumors all the way back in November that Aniston had gotten Gerard Butler a role in the movie, which presumably was in production at DreamWorks at the time. Aniston and Butler are starring in The Bounty together instead-- I guess the tabloids got their wires crossed?
