Jennifer Garner Cast In The Odd Life of Timothy Green
The husband-wife pair of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are having a pretty damn good week. First Affleck's newest film, The Town, got great reviews coming out of the Toronto International Film Festival - and gets released tomorrow - and now Garner has landed her second big casting announcement of the day.
A few mere hours after landing the lead in Better Living Through Chemistry, Vulture reports that Garner has been cast in The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Directed by Peter Hedges for Disney, the film shares qualities with About A Boy (which Hedges wrote) in that it centers on a male tween, in this case a child-prodigy musician. Garner will play the boys mother and an offer are currently out to Mark Wahlberg to play the father, though they expect that he will pass. The site says that, should Wahlberg decline the role, they are also considering Joaquin Phoenix, who apparently isn't retired anymore.
After being an "it girl" for so long because of Alias, Garner pretty much dropped off the map for awhile, but it appears that she's ready to make her comeback. In addition to starring in Valentine's Day earlier this year, the actress has two major films lined up for next year including Butter, the Hillary Clinton-Barack Obama dairy sculpting comedy; and Arthur, the remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore movie.
