Last year, Jennifer Lawrence heard her own name listed among the brief list of female actors to receive an Academy Award nomination for a lead performance in a film. This year, the Winter’s Bone star will be the one reading off the list of nominees.

We’re just weeks away from learning which films will receive Oscar nominations, with the announcement set to take place on Tuesday, January 24th at 5:30 a.m. PST from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Today, the announcement was made that Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence is set to join Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak in announcing the Oscar nominees for ten of the twenty-four categories for the 84th Academy Awards.

Lawrence, who’s set to star in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games later this year, received a nomination last year for her outstanding performance in Winter’s Bone. She was nominated alongside Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams (Portman ended up taking the award for Black Swan). While we still have a few weeks to speculate over which names and films will be nominated, at least we know whose voice and face will be delivering the big news.

The Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, February 26, 2012 and set to be televised live on ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
