Jennifer Lawrence Sings In Latest House At The End Of The Street Trailer
Oscar-nominated ingénue Jennifer Lawrence has been on a meteoric rise since her acclaimed turn in 2011 Academy Award contender Winter's Bone. The summer that followed she gave some unexpected depth to the blue transforming mutant Mystique in X-Men: First Class. Then, with the whole world watching she took to the screen in the wildly hyped Hunger Games, tackling to role of the dystopian adventures steely young heroine Katniss Everdeen with an impressive self-assurance and gravitas.
The film shattered box office records and cemented Lawrence's status as a major star, and now she's gaining serious buzz as awards season kicks off for Silver Linings Playbook. But before you get to see her star opposite Bradley Cooper in David O. Russell's demented take on romance, Lawrence will help you celebrate the approach of Halloween with the teen screams flick House at the End of the Street. Here she plays a new girl in town, whose crush on the boy next door proves dangerous.
The latest trailer plays upon the concept of love turning into something ugly by beginning with Lawrence lilting a delicate love song that warps, as the plot is unraveled. Check it out below, thanks to Yahoo:
House at the End of the Street also stars Elizabeth Shue, playing the protective single mother of Lawrence's love-struck Elissa, and Max Thieriot (Wes Craven's 2010 thriller My Soul to Take) as Ryan, a young man whose parents were brutally murdered by his sister, who ran off into the nearby woods before police could snag her. If this love song's any indication, Elissa would likely find better luck in love in another neighborhood.
House at the End of the Street hits theaters this Friday.
