Jennifer Lawrence Talks About Her Hunger Games Role, Shooting A Bow And Arrow![]()
If you don’t already know who Jennifer Lawrence is, you will soon enough. The Oscar nominated actress will be appearing in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class later this year, and has just signed on to play Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games adaptation, which if successful will turn into a film trilogy to match the extremely popular Suzanne Collins novels.
The blond bombshell recently spoke to EW about landing the lead role and while she doesn’t give anything away about what they’ll be doing with the film, we get to hear what she has to say about the role and that is something. I couldn’t be happier about being a part of Hunger Games and to play Katniss. I have a huge responsibility to the fans of this incredible book and I don’t take it lightly. I will give everything I have to these movies and to this role to make it worthy of Suzanne Collins' masterpiece. What we should take from this is that at least Lawrence has a passion for the film and that’s the best reason to take a role. She seems genuinely excited about being a part of the series and that makes for good filmmaking. As long as director Gary Ross is just as passionate, this film and the subsequent sequels should be great. She goes on to mention that she likens Katniss’ “fighting spirit” to that of Ripley from the Alien films which doesn’t give anything away, but does make me love her ever more. Expect to hear quite a lot more about The Hunger Games in the next few months. |
