Jennifer Lopez has really become an unwatchable actress, not because she's terrible at what she does, but because the projects that she chooses are absolutely terrible. In the last decade she's put her name to some truly notable pieces of shit like Gigli, Monster In Law, and Maid in Manhattan, yet she keeps plugging away and gets people to hire her. I'm as surprised as anybody that this is a casting announcement not just about one project, but two.

Deadline has learned that Lopez has entered talks to star in both the Jason Statham action film Parker and What To Expect When You're Expecting. In the former, directed by Taylor Hackford and based on the Donald Westlake series of mystery novels, Lopez will play Leslie, the female lead who helps Parker (Statham), a professional criminal, on a heist. The latter, based on the world famous pregnancy book by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel, will have Lopez play a supporting role named Holly next to Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison.

While I think Parker still has a chance to be good - Lopez had the lead female role in one of my favorite crime movies, Out of Sight - but it's hard to have any kind of faith in What To Expect When You're Expecting. After all, the last movie that Lopez did with pregnancy as the focal point was The Back-Up Plan, and we all know how that turned out.
