Jeremy Piven To Prosecute In Waska![]()
Everyone’s gotta do the obligatory indie flick, right? Even Will Ferrell has done a couple. Remember Winter Passing? Yeah, not many people do, but that means it’s even more indie! The indie flick is a simple gateway to critical acclaim and possible award consideration, and Jeremy Piven is a dude who’s smart enough to catch the train.
According to THR, Piven, along with Thomas Dekker, Lynn Collins, and Kate Walsh, has signed to star in Waska, a film about a young father whose son freezes to death during a fishing trip. Piven will play a prosecutor who goes after the father, while Collins will play the man’s ex-wife. The movie is based on the novel by Leslie Schwartz and will be adapted by Catherine Trieschmann. Gaby Dellal will direct. It’s always hard to get excited for small movies like these ahead of time. So much depends on performance, direction, and writing rather than the smoke and mirrors that come along with bigger studio pictures. But if anyone is perfect for the role of an ambitious prosecutor out for blood, it’s Piven. There’s definitely reason to be stoked. |
