Jessica Biel As Chun Li?![]()
It was last year that we first heard Hyde Park Entertainment was trying to resurrect Street Fighter as a movie here. Since then, things have been pretty quiet on the project. Actually, I was kind of hoping that good sense had prevailed and they’d given up. Well it looks like good sense has been tied up in a sack and thrown in the river.
The guys over at the Latino Review say the movie is still moving and they’re looking for a leading lady to star as the film’s female focus Chun Li. It sounds like they’re looking for a “name” because word is that Keira Knightley and Jessica Alba have already pass on the part, leading them to the door of Jessica Biel. Their scooper claims that Hyde Park is about to offer the Chun Li part to Biel and her bodacious bod. I guess they figure if the new Hulk remake can get Edward Norton and Liv Tyler they stand a chance at getting someone like Jessica Biel. Unlike the previous version of the franchise staring Jean Claude Van Damme, this one will be all about the character of Chun Li. So maybe there’s some temptation for Biel to take it, if she wants to set herself as the latest thing in fem action stars. She could be the new Lucy Lawless or something. Personally, I’d rather be Jessica Biel, but who knows what’s going on in her head. If they’re going to offer it to her they must think they have at least some sort of chance of getting her to take it. Hyde Park and Capcom are hoping to have the film ready to release in 2008, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the fighting game which spawned it. |
