Only 24 hours after we heard that Warner Brothers might be auditioning unknowns for the part of Wonder Woman in their new JLA movie, comes word from Variety that they’re going with a name instead. Jessica Biel is in talks to fly Wonder Woman’s invisible jet in Justice League of America.

The movie is an ensemble piece, which will feature major DC Comics characters in a team-up. Expected to be involved in the film are Superman, Batman, the Flash, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman. Not involved in the film are Christian Bale and Brandon Routh, the most recent actors to play Batman and Superman respectively. That, and the involvement of Happy Feet helmer George Miller as director had led many to speculate that the movie might NOT be live action. With Biel in talks to play Wonder Woman, that seems very unlikely. Have you seen Jessica Biel? It’d be a shame to waste that body on voice work. She was born wield a golden lasso.

Biel just doesn’t have the perfect look for a tight-fitting, spandex costume, she’s proven herself as an action star by being the best thing in Blade III. Biel could be the next big thing in fem action heroes, deflecting bullets with golden bracelets should come naturally.

Warner Brothers is remaining silent on the whole thing, and has refused to confirm Variety’s story. So don’t expect to hear anything if Biel’s talks turn into a contract. The WB says they’ll wait until they can announce the entire cast all at once, before admitting to anything.
