Joel Edgerton And Jessica Chastain Sign On For Double Feature Film The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby
Jessica Chastain and Joel Edgerton and easily two of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood right now, and they've already hitched their stars to one another. Though the project hasn't started production yet, both actors are set for roles in Kathryn Bigelow's currently untitled film about SEAL Team Six and the mission to kill Osama bin Laden (written by Oscar winning Hurt Locker scribe Mark Boal). But that movie won't be the last time that Chastain and Edgerton share the screen together, according to THR.
The pair has apparently signed on for a double feature project called The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers. Written and directed by Ned Benson, both films center on a married couple suffering through a rough patch in their relationship and they will look at the situation from opposite perspectives. The trade says that the story will be set in New York City where Edgerton works as a restaurant owner and Chastain has returned to school. Also in talks for the movie is William Hurt, though the story doesn't say what role he would play. Myriad Pictures is behind the film and will be selling it at the European Film Market in Berlin. Discussing the film, Myriad CEO Kirk D'Amico said, "We have to make both films work on their own, both for the buyers but also for the audiences. Together, these films will describe a fully, more complete look at these characters and their lives."
This is an ambitious project to say the least, but it the cast they have brought on board will hopefully give buyers the confidence they need to invest. Hopefully they get enough to allow them to use one song in particular from The Beatles discography.
