John McClane Enters The Smithsonian![]()
Move over R2-D2, Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers and Rocky Balboa’s gloves have some new company: a dirty undershirt and a police badge. Those were just two of the items donated to the Smithsonian by John McClane himself, Bruce Willis, for the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
The Die Hard collection, which includes Willis’s famed sleeveless shirt, McClane’s police badge, a movie poster, and a script from the newest installment, Live Free or Die Hard joins American artifacts from over 150 other movies to represent our cinematic history as part of “Treasures of American History”. The exhibit is currently on display in the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, while the American History museum undergoes renovations. Wow. It’s a good week for John McClane. Items on display in the Smithsonian. Most likely the number one movie at the Box Office this weekend (and hey, added bonus – it doesn’t suck). Yes, if only the credits would role without him being beaten into a bloody pulp and wheeled away in an ambulance I would almost envy him. But then, if a Die Hard movie didn’t end that way, it wouldn’t be John McClane, would it? |
