John Singleton To Direct Taylor Lautner In Abduction
John Singleton has signed on for the opportunity to stare dreamily at Taylor Lautner for an extended period of time. According to Deadline Hollywood, Lionsgate will bring on Singleton (Four Brothers, Boyz n the Hood) to direct Abduction, with Lautner in the lead role. One can only hope Singleton is tuned in to Lautner’s most positive acting talent: his abs.
Singleton has a couple of flicks in the pipeline, but his last major studio release was 2005’s Four Brothers: an entertaining, if not too terribly deep, tale of family, shooting and yelling. In Abduction, Singleton gets to play up the violent, dysfunctional family theme with the story of a boy (Lautner) on the run from his non-biological parents. The film has been touted as a Bourne-type thriller.
