It was less than 24 hours ago that Warner Brothers dropped the news it was moving Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince off of it’s November 21, 2008 release date to a date in the summer of 2009, and already someone has rushed to fill the void. Disney just announced that their releasing Bolt 4 days earlier, moving the film from its November 26 date to Harry Potter’s old November 21 date.
With Harry out of the way, Disney’s John Travolta powered animated movie has the family friendly audiences pretty much locked up now, and they’re taking full advantage of it. Bolt is now the only movie opening on the weekend of November 21st, and their only competition seems to be films aimed at entirely different audiences, like Australia and Soul Men released on the 14th, and Transporter 3 the following Wednesday. Thanks Harry, you just made it easer for Disney to get my money.
