Since when is Johnny Depp so gung-ho about Pirates of the Caribbean? Did Tim Burton put something in his tea? Parade posted a slew of quotes from Depp and amongst them is this glowing statement about how much Depp loves Captain Jack Sparrow: "I can't wait to get back in costume. Some people will say, 'Aha, Depp sold out by doing the sequels.' But it was never an issue for me. I love Captain Jack so much I'd do Pirates 7 if they asked me."

Since when did anyone criticize him for doing sequels? Well, Curse of the Black Pearl is better than Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End, but it’ safe to say the concept was worthy of a franchise. Anyway, the current tension stems from a recent comment Depp made after Dick Cook left Disney. Referring to the fourth film he said, “There's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment.” Then came the news that Depp was more in the Captain Sparrow spirit when Rob Marshall boarded the project. Four months later, Depp is still Pirates giddy and all is right in the world.

Clearly, Depp also took the time to talk Alice. When asked about working with Burton he said, “To be honest, he could have asked me to play Alice and I would have said yes.” He had a surprising response to a question about getting that déjà vu feeling on the set. "My whole ride in this business since day one has been pretty surreal. It defies logic. I'm still completely shocked that I get jobs and still am around." Another surprising Depp tidbit? His kids’ favorite movie is Edward Scissorhands. “It's funny because they have a difficult time watching it because it's their dad.” And on a more serious and sincere note, “I think meeting the mother of my children, Vanessa, completely changed my life. When I watch her with our kids, I can't think of anything more beautiful in the world.” All together now … aww!
