Nobody's interested in Tomb Raider games anymore, so license holder SCI is pushing for another movie. Here's the weird thing… Paramount is actually interested. So is Angelina Jolie.

Coming Soon reports that a third movie may be happening. Audiences have been increasingly disinterested in Lara Croft, but the previous two films made over $400 million worldwide. That's too much cash for Paramount Pictures to ignore.

What's odd isn't that Paramount would be interested, but that Angelina Jolie is. She doesn't need a third movie, and in fact doing one might only hurt her career. I thought she knew that, and that's why after Tomb Raider 2 she said she was done with the character. But Coming Soon and a website called The Business Online claim she's up for it. I've never heard of Business Online, and no doubt neither have you, so perhaps they're full of crap.

Yet it's hard to completely discount this. If you look at Angelina Jolie's upcoming slate of films, she's not exactly busy. Well, not busy making movies anyway. She's been otherwise occupied, Angie's spends her time these days appearing in tabloids with the caption "She stole Jennifer's man!" under her picture. She does have one movie with Robert De Niro called The Good Shepherd on the horizon, but that's it. There've been rumors of a Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2, but that hasn’t materialized yet. What I'm getting at is that she has the free space in her schedule to make another Tomb Raider movie. I hope she doesn't. Angelina is an amazing actress, she needs to put down her gun and get back to acting… and being freaky. Sit down Billy Bob, I'm not talking about you.
