For those of you sick of all the Judd Apatow leg humping that this site does, skip this article, because it’s going to be another one of those. Sorry, but the guy’s a freakin genius.

Part of his genius is in discovering new talent. He did it for Steve Carell, he’s done it with Seth Rogen, and now he’s doing with Jonah Hill whose bit part buying shoes in The 40 Year-Old Virgin has blossomed into a full blown career as a comedic actor. He had a nice part in Knocked Up and this summer he gets a starring role in the Apatow produced movie Superbad… which by the way looks hilarious.

After Superbad Jonah Hill isn’t done with being part of Apatow’s formidable stable of talent. He recently spoke to MTV about what’s next on his plate, and it looks like a whole lotta more Apatow. It seems Jonah is starting to write his own movies, and Apatow is supporting him by producing them.

Jonah has two scripts going into production. The first, Middle Child, we’ve heard about before. What’s new is the second movie, a film called Pure Imagination. Hill will star in it and says, “Basically, I go through a bunch of traumatic stuff, and I develop an imaginary friend. Then what happens is I meet a girl, and we start dating…but the problem is I don’t know whether she [actually] exists [or] whether she’s a figment of my imagination.”

Whether Apatow will direct any of these movies or remain in a producing role for both is unknown. As MTV points out, Pure Imagination sounds like something outside the sort of stuff Apatow usually likes to do. With or without Apatow in the director’s chair, anywhere Jonah Hill goes I’ll follow.
