Jonah Hill And Channing Tatum Compete To See Who Will Debut The 21 Jump Street Trailer
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum have started a race. No, they're not battling in a contest of athletic strength nor have they started dabbling in genetic engineering. This is a race to see which star can get the most Twitter followers.
In promotion of the upcoming 21 Jump Street, a feature film version of the 80s television series that launched Johnny Depp's career, Hill and Tatum, who co-star in the movie, have launched a contest to see which of them can gain the most followers by November 2nd. Why November 2nd? Because that is the day that the first official trailer for the new movie is dropping online. The actor who successfully gets the most followers by the end gets to tweet the link to the Red Band trailer for the film while the loser is stuck with Tweeting the link to the Green Band trailer. Still don't get it? Well, allow the two stars to explain it themselves. As of the moment I am writing this, Hill has a pretty sturdy lead with 716,201 followers while Tatum is trailing with 625,928 users reading his Tweets. You can find Jonah Hill's Twitter feed HERE while Channing Tatum's is HERE. The contest actually reminds me of a recent episode of Futurama, but in this case the loser doesn't have to swan dive into a Jacuzzi filled with space goat vomit/diarrhea. That's probably for the best. Regardless of whoever whens the contest, you can be sure that the first trailer for 21 Jump Street will be posted here on Cinema Blend the moment it goes live. Also starring Ellie Kemper, Brie Larson, Ice Cube, Dave Franco, Jake Johnson, Johnny Simmons, DeRay Davis and Rob Riggle, 21 Jump Street was directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and will hit theaters on March 16, 2012. |
