Another name has been thrown into the Spider-Man reboot sorting hat. This time it’s Josh Hutcherson, last seen in Cirque du Freak but probably best known from Journey to the Center of the Earth since people actually saw that film. I first noticed him in Zathura along with Dax Shepherd and a soon to be ridiculously famous Kristen Stewart.

Rumor of his potential Spidey involvement comes from IESB and an unnamed source. Even if their rumor pans out, the story is only that he’s in the running, which could mean just about anything. It could mean he’s their frontrunner or it could mean his name was scribbled down somewhere on a cocktail napkin in Marc Webb’s office and it’s been lost in the bottom of one of his drawers. Actually who are we kidding? That last option would never happen, there’s no way Sony’s letting Webb have any say in who gets cast as Spider-Man.
