Josh Peck To Take On Commies

By Tim Gomez: 2009-06-17 02:16:42
Josh Peck To Take On Commies It’s hard to take Josh Peck seriously given his early resume. But a bad Nickelodeon TV show is hardly reason enough to pass up some of Peck’s films. You probably missed The Wackness. You probably missed Special too. If you hadn’t, you’d realize that this dude can act. And that Disney argument? Ryan Gosling was a Mouseketeer and he’s like the best actor around right now.

It seems as though director Dan Bradley sees the same in Peck, as he’s hired him to take on Charlie Sheen’s roll in his remake of Red Dawn. According to EW.com, Peck will be starring alongside Star Trek’s Chris Hemsworth, famous for turning James Kirk’s father into a babbling bro, and Friday Night Lights actress, Adrianne Palicki.

For those that don’t remember (i.e. me), Red Dawn was an 80s movie about a group of teens that band together to take on Russian Communist invaders in their small American town. The movie was universally panned upon release but has since gained a cult following. I’m not sure how others feel about this, but I say remake the heck out this one. Because the red scare is totally relevant in 2009 and all.
