It's hard not to feel sympathy for Josh Pence. The guy played one of the most important characters in one of last year's best films, David Fincher's The Social Network, but gets barely any recognition for it because Armie Hammer's face was copy-pasted over his own. We can now stop feeling bad for him, as he's just landed a role in what should be one of 2012's biggest films.

THR is reporting that Josh Pence has landed a role in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. Unlike previous casting announcements, however, which have been cloaked in mystery (*cough* Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cottilard *cough*), the site has learned that the actor will play a young Ra's Al Ghul in a flashback sequence. The story also seems to solidify rumors that Cottilard will be playing Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of the Batman villain. The sources say that Pence's version of the character will exist 30 years before the time the main story takes place, which makes sense, given that Neeson is exactly 30 years older than Pence.

Every time a bit of Batman news comes out I get more and more excited. The puzzle pieces are slowly coming together and my anticipation is only growing. Now if we could only find out who the hell Gordon-Levitt is playing.

*At this point in time I'd like to point out that Armie Hammer was going to play Batman in the Justice League movie that was rumored a couple years ago, so let's call this revenge.
