Judd Apatow May Use Other Knocked Up Characters In His Spin-Off![]()
Not long ago Judd Apatow revealed that his next movie will be a spin-off, based on the married couple played by Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd in Knocked Up. But they may not be the only Knocked Up characters to appear in the film.
Talking to Screen Junkies he says he’s “trying to figure out how” to include other people from Knocked Up in the new movie. He explains, “A lot of it just depends on people’s availabilities and the story I’m trying to tell, who fits into that story.” One way or another though he says, “There definitely will be other people from Knocked Up in the movie.” The inclusion of other Knocked Up characters might seem like a foregone conclusion, but word is that even though the movie is a spin-off of sorts, it may take the characters of Pete and Debbie and put them in a different universe. That’s sort of what Get Him to the Greek did when spun off from the Apatow produced Forgetting Sarah Marshall. So who’s most likely to show up? Apatow hasn’t decided but I think it’s safe to say you can pencil in another appearance from Dr. Ken. That guy will do anything, and after some of the anything he’s done lately, a quality Apatow appearance could do him some good. Whether some of the more pivotal Knocked Up actors like Jason Segel or Jonah Hill shows up, probably depends on scheduling. I wouldn’t, however, bet on seeing Katherine Heigl after she so infamously dissed Apatow’s movie. When asked specifically about her Judd rather evasively responded, “Uh, I don’t know. It’s too early to know.” |
