Judy Greer has long had a reputation as a professional romantic comedy sidekick, and she seems in no hurry to shake it. She's signed on for a role in Ed Zwick's Love and Other Drugs, which is a love story between pharmaceutical reps played by Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal. This movie has been pegged as a drama, and Variety doesn't exactly say what Greer's role will be, but it seems fair to assume she'll at least be playing second banana to Hathaway.

The Variety story also has some much more distressing news about Greer-- she'll be playing the token mom in a live-action adaptation of the comic strip "Marmaduke," about the Great Dane and the family who loves him. The people have been calling for years now for Greer to finally get a role worthy of her talents will probably be drinking heavily tonight to get over this one.
