Justin Theroux Says Zoolander 2 Is Ready To Go
Everyone’s favorite idiot, Derek Zoolander, is about to find himself on the big screen once again. Zoolander 2 has been in development for a while now and despite many flip flops from “it’s happening” to “it’s not happening”, heavily bearded writer/director Justin Theroux, who has taken over both roles from Ben Stiller, told MTV at the NY Comic Con that the script is ready and with just a few more tweaks it’ll be submitted to the studio.
Theroux also mentioned that with any luck we’d be seeing Will Ferrell reprise his role as Mugatu, which is necessary as about half of the film’s audience will fall off if he doesn’t come back. Alongside Mugatu will be a new villain that was inspired by Jonah Hill, so Theroux is hopeful that the Superbad star will accept the spot.
A start date or release date aren’t mentioned but with the amount of confidence Theroux has when talking about the project we can hope to hear about the crewing up very soon. Watch the video interview below.
