Kasting Kong It is now official that Andy Serkis has joined the cast of King Kong, which already includes Jack Black, Academy Award winner Adrien Brody, and Academy Award Nominee Naomi Watts. And once again, Serkis will be dawning a motion capture suit for everybody’s favortie shoeless director.
It is no secret that Peter Jackson’s follow up to his Academy Award winning Lord of the Rings Trilogy is the remake of the 1933 classic. But this time around neither animatronics nor stop motion animation is gonna bring this beast to life. Serkis will be doing basically the same thing he did for Lord of the Rings sans dialogue. By providing the motion capture reference for the behemoth gorilla, Serkis will basically be the digital template for the CG Kong. As well as being the motion capture reference, Serkis will also have a walk on role as “Lumpy” the cook of the ship on it’s way to Skull Island. King Kong is set to begin filming this August for an 2005 release. ![]() What? . SUBMIT A SCOOP |
