Kate Beckinsale Spies On America![]()
Kate Beckinsale has been written out of the upcoming third Underworld movie and so she’s out looking for another excuse to shoot people. She’s found it, in the form of a Cold War era spy movie.
Kate revealed to MTV that she’s in negotiations to appear in a high octane spy drama. She says it’s called April 23rd and that it is “set during the Cold War and will be the only opportunity I've had so far to [speak] the Russian that I got a degree in [at Oxford University's New College], so that will be nice.” Smart women are so sexy. What part will she play in the film? Is she the star? She doesn’t say much about who she’ll be playing, but she does reveal that, “It's about a Russian spy who comes into America and has to be completely undercover. He has a wife who doesn't know he's a Russian; it's actually a beautiful story. It's a serious drama.” Since the Russian Spy is a “he”, it’s probably a safe bet that she won’t be playing the lead. Since she says she’s eager to speak Russian, then odds are she’s not playing the clueless, non-Russian wife. Wait a minute, does this mean she won’t be squeezing into ultra-tight fem-spy leather? What a waste. It sounds like her part may be a more minor role in the film. Kate doesn’t say much more about the movie, and this is the first I’ve heard about a project called April 23rd. Sit tight while we figure out who’s directing it and who exactly she's playing in it. The next place you can see the luscious Kate Beckinsale is in Click, where she actually is playing a wife. In this case, she’s stuck with Adam Sandler. Yeah, that’s believable. |
