I’ve never watched “Grey’s Anatomy.” I always thought it looked like a show that no straight man would ever watch unless forced. I’m sure I’m missing many emotional moments, but such is my lot in life. One of the stars of the show is Katherine Heigl, a very nice looking blonde woman who previously appeared in movies like Zyzzyx Road. You’ll remember that movie as the one that made $30 last year, which is pretty amazing considering that I could probably make more than $30 doing shadow puppets, if I really tried.

But things are looking up for Ms. Heigl. Not only are women and gay men making “Grey’s Anatomy” one of the most popular shows since that really popular show that was on two years ago, but she is also getting good buzz for her role opposite Seth Rogan in the upcoming comedy Knocked Up. Additionally, Variety is reporting that she will star in a movie called 27 Dresses. She plays a woman who has been a bridesmaid 27 times but is still unmarried. She finds out her sister is going to marry the man that she herself loves. Again, I can’t really see a straight man going to see this by choice. So Heigl seems to have that niche sewn up.

The movie, set to begin shooting in May 2007, will be directed by Anne Fletcher. She is a long time choreographer, who directed the 2006 dancing movie, Step Up. The script was written by The Devil Wears Prada scribe Aline Brosh McKenna. Nothing about this list of previous credits is making it more likely I will see this movie.
