Katherine Heigl In Talks To Star And Produce In The Follower![]()
A lot of what we’ve seen from Katherine Heigl since her departure from ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy has been more or less along the romantic comedy lines. The upcoming Julie Anne Robinson directed One for the Money sounds like it leans more toward comedy than romcom, but close enough. Beyond that and The Wedding, which is also in the works, Heigl may be branching out a bit by starring in a thriller called The Follower.
According to Variety, Heigl is in negotiations with Millennium Films to star and produce in The Follower, which was written by Tony Giglio. Little is known about the movie as far as the plot, but we do know that it’s described as a thriller, which is a shift from some of the stuff we’ve seen from her recently. Assuming the deal goes through, it should be interesting to hear more of the details on this project. At this point, it's becoming difficult to picture Heigl in a movie that doesn't have her set up to fall in love with a man she starts out disliking. In the meantime, Heigl can be seen next in New Year’s Eve, which releases in theaters tomorrow night. After that, One for the Money, which also has Heigl credited as a producer, hits theaters in January. She also has The Wedding in the works further down the line and set for a 2012 release. |
