Katie Featherston Is In The Dark On The Paranormal Activity 2
Back in March, when asked about the Paranormal Activity sequel, Micah Sloat flat out said, “I know a lot, I can’t tell you.” Naturally, that sparked rumors that Sloat could get some face time in the new film; or so he thought. MTV recently caught up with the other half of the-little-film-that-could, Katie Featherston, who wasn’t as in the loop as Sloat.
When asked if she’ll be returning for round two, Featherston said, “I don't know. I'm waiting to hear.” She revealed that Michael R. Perry is still hard at work on the script but, “If they had a way to put me in there in a way that would be reasonable and make sense — I don't know how they'd do that — I'd definitely be down for it.”
Just because Paranormal Activity is so 2009, doesn’t mean Featherston has lost touch with the team. She still chats with director Oren Peli, Sloat and producers Steven Schneider and Jason Blum as well. She explained, “The truth is, I don't press them for a lot of info because I trust that they'll do it right. I just gotta wait with the rest of everybody and see what cool stuff they come up with." The good thing is, when she does discover the new plan, she’s more than willing to spill. "I'm excited and I can't wait to see what the team does with it and I soon as I know, I'll tell everyone." She admitted, "I'm not one to keep my mouth shut."
I’m still banking on a very minimal return for Sloat and Featherston. Perhaps something involving a new haunting victim doing exactly what they did in the first film, scour the Internet for those in similar situations. But, of course, Katie is still on the loose, which makes her chance of returning and actually getting some screen time far more likely that Sloat’s. In the first film, she mentions that her sister once saw the same shadowy figure she witnessed as a child. Perhaps her sister is next on the demon’s list and that spirit will use Katie’s body to go in for the kill. But, hey, that’s just an idea.
