It was hard not to be incredibly disappointed by the sequels to The Matrix. After the Wachowski siblings brought us such an inventive and incredible science fiction creation, both Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions were convoluted messes that devalued the original. Apparently fans weren't the only ones left upset, however. The Wachowskis didn't like them either and they might be doing something about it.

AICN recently received an email from a source that calls himself El Nino who recently heard series star Keanu Reeves speak at the "London School of Performing Arts University" (I can't seem to find a school with that name, but there is a London International School of Performing Arts) and Reeves said that he has met with the directing siblings about a potential continuation to the franchise. According to the scooper, the Wachowskis have finished a "two picture script treatment" and they have met with James Cameron to discuss the pros and cons of 3D. Furthermore, Reeves said,

"He still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title The Matrix and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionise the action genre like the first movie"

As much as I loved the first film and hated the sequels, I must say that this news doesn't exactly thrill me. While they may be confident that they will make up for their last two mistakes, what if they don't? What if the two new films are just as bad as the last two? Then you have four bad sequels to one good movie, thus eliminating its legacy entirely. This is one that should simply be left alone - live and let live.

UPDATE: ScreenRant has gotten word from the London International School of Performing Arts that Keanu Reeves has made no appearance there. Say goodbye to this rumor.
