Keira Knightley has escaped her corset at last! But will it just be for some knockoff of The Island? The girl who never met a period piece she didn't like is going futuristic sci-fi for her next project, Never Let Me Go, about three friends who grow up in a boarding school and discover they're clones, grown with the specific purpose of harvesting their organs.
Variety says Knightley will join up-and-comers Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan in the film, making Knightley most definitely the star. The film will be directed by Mark Romanek, who made the creepy Robin Williams drama One Hour Photo as well as a plethora of music videos.
Is Romanek imaginative enough to make this feel like something other than a retread of The Island? Or do the two films just look similar on paper. And be honest-- if you had the chance to replace your shoddy organs with those of Keira Knightley, wouldn't you be kinda tempted?
