I root for Kevin Nealon. Not because of any specific talent he has, but because he was behind SNL’s weekend update desk when I finally got old enough to be interested in it. Plus, there was that night he put on a frilly skirt, leaped up from behind the Update Desk, shook his pasty thighs, and danced. Dance for Ike Kevin Nealon! That alone justifies your existence. So for me, Nealon will always be the man.

After a couple of failed sitcoms and some time wandering the comedy circuit he seems to finally have found his niche on the heavily touted premium cable series Weeds. That in turn has gotten him back in the mix for movies again… and not just Adam Sandler movies either (though he is in You Don’t Mess With Zohan). He’s parlayed his resurgence into a movie with one of the girls from High School Musical, Ashley Tisdale. Ok, for you and me that might be a step backward, but if you’re talking pure star-power here, sadly, there’s nothing bigger than the little brats from HSM. I know, I’m not happy about it either.

HR says the movie is They Came From Upstairs and it’s about a group of teenagers teaming up to defend their Maine vacation home from aliens invading the upstairs. Kevin Nealon will be Ashley’s *doddering old fool* dear old dad and Gillian Vigman will be *hot Nealon is so going to make out with her* Ashley’s sweet, loving mother.
